Position Summary
The Food Pantry Assistant helps support the daily operations of the food pantry, working closely with the Food Pantry Director to help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient pantry environment.
Essential Job Functions Drive to Various Locations and Pick Up Donated Items in Homes with Hope Van
Pick up food donations from various locations 4 days of the week
Must be able to lift up to 35lbs
Clean driver's license
Client Services & Communication
Assist clients during pantry hours, ensuring respectful and supportive service.
Help to maintain a welcoming, atmosphere for clients of all backgrounds.
Daily Food Pantry Operations
Working with Manager, assist in the monitoring of inventory levels and communicate needs to management (e.g., low-stock alerts).
Assist with stocking, sorting donations, and keeping storage areas organized.
Non-Essential Duties
Special projects as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of reliability, professionalism, and compassion.
Position Requires availability to work 32 hours per week.
Bilingual – English & Spanish speaker is essential
Clean drivers license
Physical Requirements and Environment
Ability to lift up to 25–35lbs
Ability to stand, walk, bend and reach for extended periods.
