Commercial Insurance Underwriter – Renewal

Commercial Insurance Underwriter
and help protect Wisconsin businesses by focusing on renewal underwriting. In this role, you’ll review existing policies, assess commercial risks, and ensure coverage remains accurate and competitive. You’ll make informed decisions that strengthen client relationships while collaborating with agents and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions. This is a remote role for candidates residing in Wisconsin.

Responsibilities
Apply a thorough understanding of commercial underwriting principles and contract language to evaluate risks.
Review renewal policies to confirm accurate coverages and limits, and determine appropriate renewal actions.
Make sound underwriting decisions that align with company guidelines.
Support onboarding and training of new underwriters.
Prepare and follow up on loss prevention letters to mitigate risk.
Review claims, risk alerts, and other requests as assigned.
Contribute to developing and improving processes for the commercial renewal team to enhance efficiency.
Assist with reinsurance policies and large premium accounts under supervisory guidance.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support departmental goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field OR 2–4 years of equivalent commercial underwriting experience.
Progress toward CPCU, AU, ARM, or other industry designations preferred.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions.
Excellent communication skills to build relationships with agents, customers, and internal teams.
Ability to work with urgency and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
High level of integrity, accountability, and customer‑focused mindset.
Compensation $55,000 - $65,000 yearly
