Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator to join their growing team in Boise, Idaho. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, supporting project planning, budgeting, and bid submissions. This role works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are priced accurately and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing

Analyze drawings, specifications, and other contract documents to determine project scope and requirements

Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids

Perform quantity take‑offs and pricing using estimating software and spreadsheets

Identify potential risks, cost‑saving opportunities, and value engineering options

Collaborate with project managers and leadership during bid reviews and project handoffs

Maintain historical cost data and stay current on market pricing and local construction trends

Assist with budgeting, change order pricing, and preconstruction planning as needed

Qualifications

4+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction (GC or major subcontractor experience preferred)

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and local building practices

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage, or similar)

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Experience estimating projects such as office, retail, healthcare, education, or industrial facilities is a plus

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
