Lead Planner/Service Advisor
who can serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients within the firms' holistic wealth management division. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive financial planning, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the Lead Advisor with plan development, analysis, and follow‑up.
This is primarily a non‑sales role, though opportunities for additional assets and cross‑selling with existing clients may arise.
Location:
Buffalo Grove, IL (must be able to relocate prior to starting)
Work Schedule:
Monday–Thursday, 8:45AM–5PM
Friday, 8:45AM–2:30PM (based on workload)
Responsibilities
Prepare one‑off financial analyses as needed.
Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients.
Collaborate with Lead Advisors and team members on client cases.
Develop investment portfolio summaries and asset allocation analyses.
Manage follow‑up tasks and ensure timely completion of client action items.
Conduct regular client meetings and maintain strong, supportive relationships.
Utilize financial planning and tax planning software to prepare analyses and recommendations.
Run and compare illustrations for annuities, life insurance, and long‑term care products.
Prepare comprehensive financial plans, retirement income strategies, and plan updates.
Conduct proactive check‑ins and ensure all client needs are met throughout the year.
Qualifications/Must Haves
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Series 65 or Series 66 license (required)
Experience with financial planning software and tools.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
3+ years of direct client‑facing experience as a Financial Planner.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and client cases simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to build and maintain long‑term client relationships.
Familiarity with tax planning concepts and software.
Life Insurance License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Experience running insurance and annuity illustrations.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) or ability to obtain within 2 years.
