Compensation & Schedule
Compensation Range: $57.13 - $77.13 per hour
Shift: PMs, 10 Hours per shift
Days off: Variable
Hours per pay period: 80
Position Summary The Charge Nurse is a licensed professional who provides unit‑specific management leadership in first‑point‑of‑contact supervision, direct patient care, patient and staff education, and emotional support of families, in accordance with the mission of Enloe Medical Center. The Charge Nurse collaborates with physicians, interprets the medical plan to staff, directs performance, and supports the next level of management in delivering patient care and supporting families. The Charge Nurse contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Surgery Services Department.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of RN experience in a Perianesthesia Care Unit or one year RN Charge experience
Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
Current CPR certification
Current ACLS certificate
Current PALS certificate (within one year)
Basic Arrhythmia Class (within one year)
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
Two years Critical Care experience or more
Perianesthesia relief charge nurse experience
One year of current RN experience in a Perianesthesia Care Unit
Certified Peri‑Anesthesia nurse (CPAN) and/or Certified Ambulatory Peri‑Anesthesia (CAPA)
Licenses & Certifications Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing; Current CPR; Current ACLS; Current PALS within one year; Basic Arrhythmia class within one year.
Skills & Competencies Demonstrates technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills, patient and family sensitivity in crisis, ability to interact with physicians, staff, patients, and public; organizes and prioritizes work efficiently; maintains composure in demanding environments; verbal and written communication; active participation in continuing education, unit QI task forces, preceptor programs, acts as department resource and positive role model; performs essential functions of the position.
