The Wealth Nook
Are you passionate about numbers, strategy, helping clients keep more of what they earn and wealth building?
We’re looking for a
Tax Associate
with solid knowledge of tax prep & compliance.
Company Description The Wealth Nook is a boutique tax and accounting firm that cares deeply about the people behind the numbers and the role tax plays in long-term wealth building.
We’re looking for someone who does quality work, takes initiative, and is comfortable thinking for themselves—someone who shares ideas, asks smart questions, and doesn’t wait around to be told what to do.
If you’re passionate about helping business owners and want to grow with a firm that values ownership and contribution, we’d love to connect.
Role Description This is a contract, hybrid role for a Tax Associate. While the role is primarily based in Orlando, FL, there is flexibility to work remotely for a majority of the time. The hybrid element is mainly for in‑person team collaboration and events. As a Tax Associate, you’ll support the preparation, review, and execution of tax strategies for a variety of clients. This includes managing filings, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities for financial efficiency and growth.
We’re looking for someone who’s not only detail‑oriented and proactive but also brings their own book of business or client relationships (with a competitive commission structure) ready to grow alongside a team that values collaboration, trust, and professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
Support tax planning and research to identify savings opportunities
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Monitor changes in tax laws and advise internal teams accordingly
Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver accurate, timely filings
Bring and develop a personal book of business
Qualifications
Experience with tax prep software and a solid understanding of tax regulations and core accounting principles.
Proficiency in finance, including financial analysis as it relates to tax needs.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Confident, professional in‑person presence with strong social skills and the ability to represent the firm well.
High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to firm and client confidentiality and ongoing learning.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
Compensation This is a
commission‑based role
with a
competitive revenue split
based on services sold and payments collected. Earnings are performance‑driven, uncapped, and increase with consistent results, client retention, and contribution to firm growth. Commission rates are reviewed periodically based on performance.
Professional network expansion through client and industry exposure
Continuing education and training opportunities available based on performance
Flexible work structure with part‑time and full‑time opportunities as the company grows
Advancement potential including higher commission splits and expanded responsibilities
