Overview
Aeromechanical Engineer Insight Global•Tampa, FL, United States Responsibilities
Use Solidworks to design and modify parts and assemblies. Create 2D drawings of parts and assemblies complete with bill of material (BOM) for internal or external fabrication and assembly. Perform aerodynamic analysis and calculations to inform the design and predict the behavior of aircraft. Develop and analyze mechanical systems for aircraft, including engines, airframes, and avionics. Conduct simulations, testing, and prototyping to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into larger aerospace systems. Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential mechanical failures. Design and oversee the manufacturing and assembly processes of mechanical components, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards. Maintain accurate documentation of designs, processes, and test results. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Competencies
Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or CATIA. Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures. Understanding of regulatory and industry standards, such as FAA regulations, AS9100, and ISO 9001. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Familiarity with 3D printing technologies Education / Certifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master\'s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is a plus. Solidworks Certified Professional in Mechanical Design (CSWP) is a plus. Experience
4-8 years of experience in aerospace or related field. Experience working for a military contract and performing formal technical presentations such as a PDR, CDR, PRR.
