About Crossroads Crossroads Christian Church is a 30-year-old, multi-generational, growing church in the Kansas City suburb of Shawnee, KS. We are an independent Christian Church, part of the Restoration Movement. We have an average Sunday attendance of 650 in our 3 services. Our mission is to bring people to Jesus Christ and to assist them in becoming His fully devoted, reproducing followers. Crossroads is seeking an Operations Pastor.

Job Description The primary role of the Operations Pastor will be to humbly serve the Lord Jesus Christ as a staff member of Crossroads Christian Church, to work in collaboration with the rest of the staff and serve the church as a whole, with an emphasis on the administrative needs of Crossroads.

This will primarily be split into two main categories; finance and general building/property management. While this is not a traditional pastoral role, the desired candidate will have a pastor’s heart in regard to love of and care for people.

A successful candidate, therefore,

Must be an immersed Christian themselves and

Able to fully support the statement of belief, core values and philosophy of Crossroads Christian Church.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

Building and Property Management

Regular building inspections.

Annual – fire, sprinklers, extinguishers, backflow valves, roof, etc.

Quarterly/Monthly –

Elevators,

Emergency lights.

Monitor & assess building and property regular for any issues or repairs and report those to the building and grounds teams.

Maintain church vehicles and additional property.

Finance, Payroll, and Budget

Prepare, monitor, and oversee the church’s annual budget.

Payroll for the church staff and preschool staff.

This includes tracking vacation and paid days off for Crossroads staff.

Reconcile monthly accounts.

Send monthly reports to outside accounting firm.

Handle daily needs of reconciling PushPay to QuickBooks and Shelby (Church’s member database).

Monitor the church’s bank accounts.

Monitor all administrative and ministry budgets (Includes working with staff and ministry team leaders on their budgets and spending).

General Administrative Duties

Annual PCI Compliance (use of PushPay).

Annual renewal of church insurance.

Track church attendance, sending weekly reports to the elders.

Monitor, contract, and follow up with various vendors, as necessary.

Facilitate service contracts.

General Staff Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate appointed ministry teams (when needed).

Attend services and Crossroads events regularly, and be involved in the various aspects of ministry and membership of Crossroads.

Additional Expectations and Responsibilities:

Model high standards in your own personal, family and devotional life.

Maintain a good example in your relationships with others, studying, praying, tithing, etc.

A personal dedication to your own spiritual growth is required.

The person chosen for this role will be expected to hold high personal integrity both at home and in the workplace, be competent and confident yet coachable, have a strong work ethic, and be of high personal and professional character.

Strong communication skills are required – both within the staff and ministry teams, as well as with the general church population as a whole.

Computer/basic tech skills are beneficial.

At present, we utilize Planning Center Services, ProPresenter, and Shelby Next as some of our primary software.

Adhere to the policies in the staff policy book, as well as the expectations of Crossroads Christian Church membership.

Serve as a Ministry Team Overseer to a few other ministries in the church.

The Ops Pastor role will, by default, oversee Building Team, Grounds Team, and Security Team.

These can change as time passes and are often assigned by staff role proximity or by personal relationship.

Be available to share your gifts and talents in other areas of the church ministry as time permits.

Be available to serve in other areas of our worship services as the need arises.

There will be opportunities to take the lead on church-wide events and outreaches.

Other Details

This is a full-time, salaried position.

A 4-year degree is required, and experience in an administration or an operations/oversight position (preferably with budgetary/accounting acumen) is expected.

Compensation for this position includes health insurance coverage, cell phone reimbursement, and pension.

This position will report directly to the Senior Pastor, as well as to the elders in financial matters.
