Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Linux / Compute & Storage) - Financial Services Department:

Infrastructure Location:

Manhattan, NY (on-site four days a week). Must live locally or be willing to relocate to the NYC area on the first day of hire. Salary:

Linux at scale + advanced distributed storage platforms like GPFS or WEKA

and work with high-performance, large-scale storage platforms where latency and throughput really matter.

Position Overview

We are seeking a

Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer

with expertise in Linux, compute, and storage systems to join our team in Manhattan. In this role, you will design, build, and manage infrastructure platforms that scale with business growth. You will work across

bare metal, hypervisors, containers, and public cloud environments , ensuring high performance and reliability. Your day-to-day work will involve system installation and configuration, performance optimization, monitoring and alerting, automation, and tool development. This hands-on role requires technical depth and collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage systems at scale through standardization, automation, testing, and monitoring Define and enforce infrastructure standards for source control, testing, CI/CD, OS, patches, and configuration management Support a distributed compute environment and multi-petabyte storage platforms Install, configure, and monitor RHEL-based Linux systems Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the full stack Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver both short-term and long-term objectives

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering with strong Linux administration expertise Proficiency with configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible, or similar) Hands-on experience with distributed storage systems and protocols (NFS, GPFS, WEKA) Programming skills in Python or another modern language (Go, Rust, etc.) Knowledge of modern development practices (version control, agile, CI/CD) Experience with observability tools (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP) Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline Excellent written and verbal communication skills
