The Process Mechanical Construction Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for managing process piping-focused mechanical construction projects under the guidance of an experienced Project Executive. A background in High-Purity/Hygienic Piping/Equipment with experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Micro Electronics industries is essential. Key competencies include estimating, scheduling, procurement and submittal procedures, labor coordination, cost tracking and reporting, QA/QC documentation, change management, and construction safety. The role requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication with clients, construction managers, foremen, subcontractors, and senior project management. Key Responsibilities
Estimating: Review construction drawings and specifications to develop estimates and bid proposals for all materials, labor, equipment, overhead, and subcontractor costs. Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules based on estimates and client requirements; manage the schedule using MS Project and communicate with foremen to track and report progress and changes. Procurement: Write, execute, and manage purchase orders and subcontracts; review quotes, proposals, and contracts; coordinate material/equipment delivery per the project schedule. Labor Coordination: Communicate and coordinate schedule, procurement, safety, and cost expectations with foremen; determine manpower loading and forecasts. Quality Control: Manage welding procedures and documentation; understand weld inspection, testing procedures, and material/equipment compliance with specifications. Change Management: Identify, quantify, and process project scope changes through construction change control processes. Safety Compliance: Oversee OSHA construction safety, corporate safety policies, and client EHS expectations; monitor compliance with field inspections and reviews. Reporting: Provide regular updates on project schedule and cost tracking. Essential Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Facilities Engineering, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field; relevant trade education or equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Technical education in process mechanical systems (trade apprenticeship, vocational training, or related coursework) is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction project management or related roles in High Purity/Hygienic Piping and Equipment within Pharma, Biotech, or Micro Electronics industries. Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership; ability to analyze problems and develop solutions; strong understanding of process mechanical systems. Work Environment: Combination of regular site visits and office work; ability to travel to different project locations within New England as needed. Work Environment
