Description Of Work The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) is the largest state agency and is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for an energized and collaborative Project Architect (Architect II) to be a part of the DECM Engineering Team. This position has a duty station at the DECM Office Complex off Yonkers Road in Raleigh, NC and will be tasked with applying architectural based knowledge, forward‑thinking direction, and overall project management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Management Preferences Salary Range: $64,621.00 – $113,088.00 Pay Grade: NC19
Management Preferences
Working knowledge of principles and practices of architecture building system planning, design, AND/OR construction.
Working knowledge of NC Building Codes and/or International Building Codes.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD AND/OR Revit design software.
A valid license to practice Architecture in the State of North Carolina
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in architecture or an engineering discipline related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience as a registered architect; or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience. Necessary Special Qualifications: Valid license to practice architecture granted by the North Carolina Board of Architecture.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.
