$100,000 – $130,000 USD per year

Purpose The position is responsible for validating NG9‑1‑1 call handling solutions from multiple vendors that can provide statewide enterprise‑level deployment in multiple states. The individual will assist the team in validating vendor solutions and gathering information to help Comtech assess the capabilities of NG9‑1‑1 call handling solutions for integration with the current NG9‑1‑1 system.

Responsibilities

Help install multi‑vendor CHS in Comtech lab.

Write test cases based on NENA i3 standards and call‑handling solutions that can perform in high‑availability private cloud infrastructure.

Run test scripts using industry‑standard telecommunication testing tools.

Submit bugs and participate in continuous improvement, including bug fixes, upgrades, and enhancements to the user experience.

Support documentation for Tier 1 Network Operations Center personnel.

Perform and document end‑to‑end call functionality tests on different vendors CHS.

Perform and document high‑volume call functionality tests on different vendors CHS.

Validate CHS based on state guidelines and NENA i3 standards.

Ensure CHS meet 5‑9’s for high availability in NG9‑1‑1 VoIP telephony signaling, voice, and text‑to‑911 networks.

Validate CHS hardware, physical phone, external keyboard, audio interfaces, jack box, and software of multi‑vendor CHS.

Validate the graphical user interface (GUI) of CHS.

Validate 911 call flow including caller location in NG9‑1‑1.

Validate secure administration, configuration, maintenance, performance, and monitoring of vendors CHS.

Validate CHS integration with NG9‑1‑1 core services.

Validate CHS artificial intelligence core services by writing AI‑based tests for validating CHS functionalities.

Validate mapping systems integration with CHS.

Ensure vendor agility to integrate with other vendor solutions.

Participate in Comtech Engineering Review Board reviewing test results.

Work with other teams to plan, design, and implement test infrastructure for CHS validation.

Document system test configurations and test procedures.

Participate in ISO‑9000, TL‑9000, and ISO‑27001 compliance and documentation activities.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Familiarity with Remedy AR System.

Familiarity with NENA i3 compliant BCF, ESRP, ECRF and telecommunication testing tools such as ixLoad and GL MAPS (plus).

Knowledge of NG9‑1‑1 core services and ESINet.

Understanding of Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP).

Hands‑on experience with telephony protocols (SIP, SS7, ISDN, CAMA) and related audio, video, TTY, text‑to‑911, SMS, MMS, RCS, and real‑time text (RTT) technologies.

Prior experience with NG9‑1‑1 call‑handling equipment.

Experience supporting AWS cloud environments.

Experience developing technical diagrams with Visio.

Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills.

Willingness to work overtime and on‑call as necessary.

Understanding of service‑level agreements (SLAs).

Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.

Experience with IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, and basic network routing; WANT and DMVPN (plus).

Knowledge of Emergency Incident Data Exchange (EIDX) and Emergency Incident Data Objects (EIDOs).

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience and 3–5 years’ experience in the NG9‑1‑1 industry.
