Responsibilities

Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

Keep shop area neat and clean

Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts

Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary

Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner

Check tire pressure and add air if needed

Perform Multi-Point inspections on new and pre-owned vehicles

Maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals

Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil; replace oil and air filters

Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed

Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership

Compensation The Drivability Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $33.80 and $104.00. The position may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit. Additionally this position may also pay a retention bonus of $1.25 per every booked hour.

Qualifications

2+ years of Service Technician experience, preferred

ASE Certification preferred

A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair

Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies

Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment

Excellent customer service skills

Basic computer skills

Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality

Enjoy working in a dynamic environment

Ability to collaborate effectively

Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications

Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment

Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required

Valid driver’s license and insurability by employer's carrier
