SR WORKERS' COMPENSATION EXAMINER - 43001337
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Working hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Salary: $40,140.00 per year.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of professional experience involving workers’ compensation claims.
Six (6) months’ experience in a position requiring the processing of medical payments or knowledge of medical terms.
Six (6) months’ experience in working with workers’ compensation claims in any capacity.
Six (6) months’ experience in customer service and providing information to callers.
Post‑secondary degree from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication and basic arithmetic.
Ability to examine and evaluate data relating to a workers' compensation program; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; conduct fact‑finding investigations; handle telephone calls in a fast, courteous and effective manner; deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner; work independently; utilize problem‑solving techniques; plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; prepare and maintain reports; perform basic arithmetical calculations.
Brief Description of Duties This position assists workers’ compensation specialists with reviewing and evaluating medical‑only workers’ compensation claims, processing and paying medical and legal bills associated with workers’ compensation claims, and reviewing workers’ compensation First Report of Injury forms.
