Full time Regular

Our Utility Supervisors serve as leadership to Consulting Utility Foresters (CUFs) and other operations department employees. They perform inspections, audits, post‑work checks, and assist utility employees in monitoring contractor performance. They are a liaison between clients, tree crews and customers, resolving concerns as needed. They help ensure safety, PPE, and consistent planning methodology. They conduct regional benchmarks, pre‑patrol meetings, and close out work releases.

Role Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.

3 years minimum experience working on electric utility projects.

ISA Certified Arborist.

ISA Certified Utility Specialist preferred.

ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified or ability to become qualified preferred.

Ability to identify local trees and knowledge of growth rates.

High level of communication and organization skills.

High level of Customer Service skills.

Experience with data collection devices and GIS software desired.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; self‑motivated, organized, production oriented.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules.

Valid Driver License.

Pre‑employment drug screen and background check required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Patrol distribution and/or transmission circuits, prescribe work to clients’ tree trimming contractors, determine trimming schedules, notify property owners, manage work issuance and track progress, map circuits, perform outlet investigations, obtain permits, document work.

Enter tree trimming prescriptions into handheld computers or similar systems.

Audit tree trimming and removal work to ensure compliance with standards; complete post‑audit forms and forward to program manager.

Maintain working relationships with local client personnel and relevant federal, state, and local agencies.

Comply with regulatory requirements and client vegetation management standards.

Participate in public presentations and meetings as required.

Adhere to personal appearance, attendance, and work hour policies.

Conduct work safely, keep work area neat and professional, keep company vehicle maintenance on schedule.

Know and exemplify ACRT’s Guiding Principles.

Other duties as required.

Equipment, Environmental and Safety Requirements

Driving cars, trucks.

Walking on uneven ground.

Exposure to noise.

Exposure to extremes of temperature, humidity, or wetness.

Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement.

Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, chemicals.

Various forestry‑related equipment including DBH tape, hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, etc.

Required Skills

Identify local trees and knowledge of growth rates.

Learn and use company‑specific software systems.

Work in rugged terrain and inclement weather.

Read and follow maps.

Drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle.
