i3 is searching for a Systems Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) effort. The mission is to design and implement a Missile Defense System with multiple layers of protection. The Systems Administrator monitors system performance and addresses any issues through an effective support process. This position is located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

Install, configure and maintain the Manage Engine application.

Ensure all hardware and software is being tracked within the application.

Build reports for inventory and lifecycle reporting.

Define the implementation of configuration management within the manage engine application.

Work with government leadership to define the parameters of what needs to be tracked within the application.

Work with Platform Services, Procurement, and Cyber teams to ensure the proper data is being tracked within the application.

Install new or rebuild existing servers both physical and virtual, and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage through Agile methodologies.

Perform day-to-day maintenance, patching and ensuring STIG compliance by monitoring, testing performance, troubleshooting OS, resolving hardware and software problems, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with other engineers on network/system optimization.

Demonstrate understanding of how software behaves in order to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot systems.

Research new technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently.

Experience with transitioning on-premise applications and software to the government hybrid-cloud solution and maintaining DoD approved cloud service providers to provide IT services and capabilities including IaaS, PaaS, DaaS, and SaaS Cloud Service Offerings.

Provide technical expertise supporting information system components, infrastructure integration and maintenance to satisfy system security requirements for several stakeholders.

Provide direct customer service and technical support to local and remote users as required via phone, e-mail, online systems and in person.

Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems applicable to the compliance of RMF accreditation packages.

Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to safeguard information systems, networks and databases.

Install software, updates, patches and upgrades.

Install, configure and manage ADS or Azure DevOps Server repositories.

Understand software configuration management, build, deployment and release management, application lifecycle management, infrastructure, and DevOps tools and processes.

Have a customer‑centric approach and provide all‑level support for the technical and cyber team as well as the user base community.

Work with the data center vendor and the application teams to upgrade servers, operating systems, middleware software, database software, and agency applications.

Notify affected teams of the upgrade and patching activities.

Identify server needs for new applications in collaboration with application teams.

Provide advice and training to end‑users and mentor junior team members.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Additional experience may substitute for degree.

5+ years of relevant IT experience.

Experience in Manage Engine.

Working knowledge of current systems and applications.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware conflicts.

Be able to quickly adapt to new situations, have a strong commitment to a team environment, work with little supervision, and have the willingness to learn new technologies.

Experience with storage, backup and disaster recovery technologies.

MS Windows server installation/configuration experience.

Group Policy / Active Directory configuration and management.

Experience with PowerShell.

Folder permission management.

Knowledge of O365, SharePoint, Azure and AWS.

Must hold an approved DoD 8140 certification – CompTIA Security+ CE.

Must have an approved Windows Operating System Training Certificate.

Active Secret clearance required; must be able to maintain the security clearance required for this position.

Must reside within a 75‑mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate prior to start date.

Ability to reliably commute to the office as business needs dictate.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday‑Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
