Core Experience and Responsibilities:
Hands‑on experience installing and uninstalling MQ 9.0 and above on Linux
Expertise in upgrading and downgrading Queue Managers in Linux
Hands‑on experience with IBM MQ clusters
Expertise in queue management
Knowledge of MQ Dead Message Queue issues
Troubleshooting incidents in MQ environments
Recovering damaged MQ objects and restoring default objects
Channel triggering and application triggering
Good‑to‑Have:
Updating MQ configuration files
Remote administration of Queue Managers through MQ Explorer
Backing up Queue Managers with scripts
Backing up objects and permission backups
Creating Queue Managers with linear and circular log modes
Administrating MQ software‑level and Queue Manager‑level errors
Applying security to MQ objects and Queue Managers
Implementing SSL among MQ channels
Migrating backups with Channel Authentication Records for secure connectivity of MQ clients
Installing MQ Series patch and support packs on Windows and Linux machines
Configuring WMQ, setting up queues, Queue Managers and channels
Rising PMRs to IBM on critical issues, troubleshooting with vendors and applying bug fixes
Analyzing MQ level logs
Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills with an excellent understanding of system development methodologies, techniques and tools
Configured and implemented distributed queuing on client/server architectures
Actively monitoring middleware and performing daily on‑call tasks (checking error logs, fail‑over queues, system logs, backed‑out messages) to maintain a healthy system
Monitoring ticketing tools and working on tickets related to MQ
Implementing automations to reduce incidents and recurring tasks
Must Skills:
