MLS Tech (PLS Plant)

Shift:

M-F 2p – 10p with occasional OT

Starting Pay Rate:

$27.28*

A tiered progression system is in place for the MLS Tech role, with levels 2 and 3 achievable based on demonstrated skills, abilities, training, and tenure.

General Description of Duties Duties include operating the plant, clean up, operating a loader, shuttle wagon, haul truck, skid steer and performing general preventative maintenance activities (lubrication, inspection, etc.). Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager. Successfully manages plant operation and sampling, and the load out facility.

Drives active safety engagement among fellow employees through formal safety stand‑downs, SLAMs, and informal shift meetings.

Performs pre‑shift inspections as required by MSHA and DMME.

Demonstrates proficient knowledge of the plant and its operational needs, enabling effective and timely troubleshooting.

Operates independently with minimal interaction from supervision.

Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with co‑workers.

Manages plant operation and sampling of product at various stages of the process.

Manages the load out facility to load railcars/trucks accurately and on schedule.

Maintains exceptional housekeeping throughout the plant, including outside areas, control room, lab, and dump areas.

Ensures paperwork is in order (LOTOTO sheets, interlock bypass forms, pre‑shift inspection forms, mobile and stationary inspection forms, etc.).

Performs routine or one‑off assignments as requested by Supervisor, Kiln Operator, Process Engineer, or Process Manager.

May fill in occasionally as a kiln operator, assistant, lime loader, etc., depending on prior work history and qualifications.

The Operator shall be task‑trained on the following equipment:

Shuttle wagon (both)

Hitachi haul truck

CAT 777 haul truck

CAT 980M and 980K

CAT 972M

CAT 246 skid steer

Qualifications

Safely complete other assigned training.

Safely meet the supervisor’s standards of performance.

Safely fill in as needed during vacation, absences, and increased production demands
