Data Architect - Power & Utilities – Manager – Consulting. Location OPEN. EY is seeking a motivated professional with solid experience in the utilities sector to serve as a Manager who possesses a robust background in Data Architecture, Data Modernization, end-to-end data capabilities, AI, Gen AI, and Agentic AI, preferably with a power systems / electrical engineering background and having delivered business use cases in Transmission / Distribution / Generation / Customer. The role is dedicated to the utilities sector, where the successful candidate will craft, deploy, and maintain large-scale AI data-ready architectures. You will help our clients enable better business outcomes while working in the rapidly growing Power & Utilities sector. As a Manager in Data Architecture, you will lead transformative technology projects and programs aligned with EY’s strategy, providing assurance on timelines, costs, and quality, and guiding both technical and non-technical teams in delivering cutting-edge technology solutions and infrastructure. Your expertise in project and program delivery methods (Agile and Waterfall) will be instrumental in coaching others and solving technical constraints. Responsibilities

Lead the effective management and delivery of one or more processes, solutions, and projects with a focus on quality and risk management. Drive continuous process improvement and identify innovative solutions through research, analysis, and best practices. Manage professional staff or supervise team members to deliver complex technical initiatives and guide others in problem-solving and solution design. Design, architect, and present findings and solutions for data architecture and data engineering; lead junior team members and work with a variety of clients to sell and deliver technology consulting services. Serve as a trusted advisor with a broad understanding of digital transformation, analytic technology landscape, industry trends, and client motivations; engage with senior leaders to shape goals and information needs. Lead workshops and design sessions with stakeholders to capture requirements, understand use cases, and align on data architecture strategies and projects. Design and implement modern data architectures supporting transactional, operational, analytical, and AI solutions. Direct and mentor global data architecture and engineering teams; foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Establish data governance policies and practices, including data security, quality, and lifecycle management; stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in STEM is required. 8+ years of professional consulting experience in industry or technology consulting. 8+ years of hands-on experience in architecting, designing, delivering, or optimizing data lake solutions. 3+ years’ experience with native cloud products and services (e.g., Azure or GCP). 5+ years of experience mentoring and leading teams of data architects and data engineers. In-depth knowledge of data architecture principles and best practices (data modeling, data warehousing, data lakes, data integration). Experience leading large data engineering teams to design and build platforms with complex architectures and diverse features. Hands-on experience in end-to-end data pipelines and data delivery architectures; proficiency in data modeling and architectural patterns (Data Fabrics, Data Mesh, Lake Houses, Delta Lakes). Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes); knowledge of DevOps practices for automating data workflows (DataOps). Proficiency in programming languages used in data engineering (Python, Java, or Scala); experience with version control systems (Git). Understanding of data security, access control, and privacy best practices; experience leading Infrastructure and Security engineers. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills; experience with data governance, metadata management, and enterprise data management. Preferred / Ideal

Master’s degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields. Experience with cloud data platforms like Databricks; experience in utility sector is a plus. Proven ability to mentor and influence teams; a passion for innovation and emerging technologies.
