Short Description Greets patients and guests using AIDET while providing an individualized excellent patient service experience. Provides patient support, keeps informed of delays, and takes appropriate action, including offering alternatives. Performs all registration functions including full registration, updating demographics, identification, insurance information, verification, and obtaining signatures. Performs and documents patient outreach for messages received in front desk pool, MyChart messaging, and confirmation calls.

Utilizes kiosks, tablets, and other technology to assist patients upon arrival, requires standing and walking for 2-8 hours per shift. Makes appointments across the healthcare continuum, collects co‑pays and outstanding balances, reconciles cash drawer daily, performs non‑clinical administrative duties including in‑basket and telephone communication, documentation, insurance forms, precertifications, authorizations, referrals, etc. Documents patient outreach and call backs, fulfills organizational responsibilities, respects/promotes patient rights, responds to emergencies, communicates with multidisciplinary team, maintains regulatory standards, and is flexible and multitasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience Required

Minimum one year of recent registration or billing experience in a medical facility.

Proficiency in patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance pre‑certifications, authorizations, and referrals.

Epic experience preferred.

Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills.

Demonstrated performance of excellent customer service skills.

Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required.

License/Certification Requirements NAHAM Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification preferred.

Special Requirements

Customer‑service oriented attitude and pleasant, poised demeanor with excellent phone etiquette.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Proficiency in the use of computers.

NAHAM Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification preferred.
