Technician I - Plant Maintenance - Atlanta Area

Reporting to: Damen Winters
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and emergency repairs at our various plants. The Tech will service plant equipment, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues and work to ensure minimal downtime. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, excellent communication and a commitment to safety. At times the Tech will work independently and at times will work with other members of the maintenance or operations department.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on ready mix plants and plant equipment including but not limited to mixers, conveyors and batching equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues to ensure optimal plant operations
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures and downtime
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including repairs made and parts used
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities
Collaborate with Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Manager and other team members to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks
Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as necessary
Identify hazards and maintain clean and organized working areas
Qualifications
3 years of experience in plant maintenance, preferably in the concrete or construction industry
Strong mechanical, electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of ready mix plant operations and equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimum oversight and as a team
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Valid driver's license
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends as needed
Fundamental knowledge of welding is a plus
Physical Requirements
Must wear all appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, masks, seat belt and steel toe boots) when performing safety‑sensitive duties or in certain areas of the plant. If work requires driving in a company vehicle or personal vehicle, seat belt must be worn while vehicle is in motion
Requires working in extreme weather; temperatures sometimes above 90 degrees, sometimes cold, wet or damp conditions
Requires walking on terrain that may be uneven, muddy and slippery
Exposure to sounds and noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable
Exposure to diesel exhaust, dust, and water mist or vapor
Variable lighting conditions, dependent upon available natural light
Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 30 – 50 pounds
Walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, crouch/squat
Must be able to read and understand equipment installation instructions, technical specifications and/or architectural drawings and be able to follow steps to properly and safely install various types of equipment used in the production of ready mix concrete. This includes but is not limited to air compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic pistons, valves, gates, conveyors, radial stacker conveyors, screw conveyors, weigh‑batchers and scales, various motors, drives, gears and pulleys, breakers and switchgear, miscellaneous steel components
Must be able to use reason and understanding to troubleshoot and repair issues with plant equipment in a manner that will safely resolve issues
