About the role:

As an

Operations Specialist – Meat/Seafood , you’ll be the go-to expert for driving operational excellence across multiple stores in the district. You’ll coach and develop department managers, optimize merchandising strategies, and ensure compliance with company standards—all while fostering a culture of engagement and customer-first service.

Main responsibilities:

Partner with store directors and department managers to align operations with division goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Provide hands‑on coaching in financial management, including sales planning, inventory control, and labor scheduling.

Collaborate with merchandising teams to implement strategies that boost sales and profitability while maintaining quality standards.

Lead initiatives to improve shrink, enhance execution, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Support talent development through training, succession planning, and engagement programs to build strong, high‑performing teams.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Soft skills:

Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills; ability to motivate and influence others.

Competencies:

Decision‑making, collaboration, adaptability, and analytical thinking.

Knowledge:

Retail grocery operations, merchandising, procurement, marketing, and financial analysis.

Abilities:

Manage multiple priorities, interpret data, embrace change, and travel extensively within the district.

Educational requirements:

Previous experience as Assistant Store Director or Store Director with specialized knowledge of meat/seafood operations.

Travel requirements:

Up to 90% within assigned district; occasional overnight/weekend travel.

Other requirements:

Proficiency with IT applications and personal computer systems; ability to work non‑traditional hours including evenings and weekends.

Pay Transparency:

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range.
