Summary
The Assistant General Sales Manager supports the General Sales Manager in the day‑to‑day operations of a retail store, ensuring smooth sales and guest experience activities.
Responsibilities
Support the General Sales Manager in overseeing all sales KPIs, including volume, margin, closing ratio, sales per guest, bedding, and protection.
Handle all customer‑related issues in the General Sales Manager's absence.
Provide exceptional leadership and timely communication to sales, guest experience, and visual teams.
Coach sales staff to achieve individual and team success in a professional manner.
Assist in maintaining budgeted administrative costs, including wages and supplies.
Ensure complete documentation of procedures and tasks.
Complete various report functions promptly.
Maintain proper staffing levels for the sales team according to budgeted job codes.
Prepare and administer impact coaching sessions for sales team development.
Coordinate and execute daily and weekly peak state huddles.
Work with the Visual Presentation Manager on product placement.
Report policy changes and other information to staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
High School Diploma required.
2+ years of experience in retail industry.
Ability to motivate employees to achieve sales KPIs.
Ability to handle guest concerns timely.
Ability to interview and staff a retail location.
