Job Description Summary/Objective:
The SHOP LEAD - SHIPPING COORDINATOR position compiles and maintains information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions
Oversee and direct incoming and outgoing shipping activities; verification and record-keeping to ensure proper material handling, accuracy, completeness, quality, and compliance
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of shipping coordinators and warehouse staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Coordinate trailer inventory with third party providers
Work closely with production and customer service to ensure timely delivery of product.
Reviews production schedule and work orders
Develops, establish, and implement systems and procedures to improve the day-to-day activities in the shipping department;
Help develop and implement internal strategies to minimize costs and optimize efficiency
Keep inventory management system updated and accurate
Provides clear directions and general guidance to the department in the formulation of basic policies and procedures and ensure that these are translated into action.
Able to communicate with internal and external clients to understand their transportation requirements and to relay important information relative to existing loads.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and finger to handle objects, or controls; reach with hand and arms. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
