Experience creating custom widgets and reusable front‑end components within BigCommerce. Proficiency with BigCommerce’s Storefront GraphQL API for dynamic and data‑driven feature implementation. Strong knowledge of the BigCommerce platform. Expertise in BigCommerce theme development and customization. Expert level knowledge of BigCommerce Stencil framework (including handlebars and front matters). Comfort working with Storefront APIs and Stencil util‑APIs. Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/ECMAScript 5/6. Expertise in JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery). Thorough understanding of cross‑browser compatibility issues. Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques. Understanding of W3C web standards/semantics and accessibility guidelines. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Great attention to detail and a highly organized work style. A positive, upbeat attitude with the ability to learn quickly. Minimum of 2 years of experience in BigCommerce website development. Experience with WordPress, Magento, and Shopify (preferred). Experience with ReactJS/AngularJS (preferred). Proficiency in PHP/MYSQL and AJAX (preferred). Strong written and spoken English communication skills. Availability to work 40 hours per week, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PST. Ability to adapt to a diverse and multicultural environment. BigCommerce certification (preferred). Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of clearly discussing ideas, technical concepts, and feedback. A proactive mindset, taking initiative and ownership of work. A reliable remote workstation setup: fast computer, microphone, speakers, webcam, reliable internet, and power. Key Responsibilities:
Build custom widgets and components to enhance site functionality and user experience. Implement interactive and data‑driven features using BigCommerce’s Storefront GraphQL API. Develop eCommerce sites on the BigCommerce platform. Develop custom BigCommerce themes. Migrate websites from other eCommerce platforms to BigCommerce. Extend BigCommerce functionalities using storefront APIs and Stencil util‑API. Integrate third‑party and platform‑supported applications into sites. Set up payment integration, shipping methods, and taxes within the BigCommerce platform. Optimize page speed for BigCommerce Sites. Implement SEO/CRO best practices on BigCommerce sites. Upgrade sites from BluePrint to the Stencil Framework. Transform complex PSD layouts into pixel‑perfect presentation layer HTML5/CSS3 templates. Create responsive website designs. Work with version control systems such as GIT / SVN. Manage multiple projects and work effectively under tight deadlines. Produce high‑quality work with a strong focus on detail. Communicate clearly and regularly with team leads, project managers, and designers regarding project goals, timelines, and deliverables. Take initiative in suggesting improvements, sharing feedback, and identifying opportunities to enhance workflows and project outcomes. We prioritize talented and diligent candidates who excel in our skills tests, considering them even if they do not fully meet past experience or educational background criteria. Compensation Disclosure:
Starting base pay for this position in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado ranges between $17 - $35 per hour. Compensation factors include experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority. Compensation outside these states may fall outside the above ranges.
