Job Summary
Under the supervision of the EVS shift supervisor and manager, this position is responsible for deep cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, clinics, lobbies, and other ancillary spaces in the medical center in accordance with Environmental Services infection control practices and regulatory standards. The EVS Floor Tech provides services to ensure the facility is aesthetically and hygienically clean and acceptable for our patients, families, staff and guests. Additional responsibilities includes floor maintenance (strip, wax, buff and shower scrub tiles), carpet cleaning, wall washing, furniture cleaning, project assignments, Furniture transport and room set up.
Qualifications Education
High School Diploma/G.E.D. (preferred)
Work Experience
Minimum two (2) years Housekeeping floor/carpet experience in healthcare or hospitality or completion of floor and carpet care training and competency checklist (required)
Minimum two (2) years Frontline customer experience (preferred)
Skills and Abilities
Must be able to read, write legibly, understand, and follow oral instruction. Must be able to communicate effectively with department staff, hospital employees, physicians, patients and public, and work independently using good judgment and common sense. Must be able to apply disinfection cleaning practice as acquired through training. Must be able to apply floor and carpet deep cleaning practices. Good customer/patient relations skills. Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals when in use and secure from public contact. Must be able to protect confidential patient information. Must be able to employ safety measures when working with equipment, tools and customers.
Bilingual Skills Preferred
