Career Area Legal and Compliance
Senior Paralegal Responsibilities
Prepare quarterly regulatory risk filings, including working directly with Compliance team members to gather and review responsive documentation from business partners
Prepare diligence reports and risk summaries for attorneys regarding potential third party business partners
Assist with the maintenance and oversight of company policies and procedures
Conduct legal research in support of business needs regarding business courtesies
Open, manage, and close matters in accordance with company policies
Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders
Top candidates will have familiarity with Caterpillar's Ethics & Compliance program or other relevant experience supporting corporate compliance programs.
Qualifications
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
Managing Multiple Priorities: High level effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
Confidentiality: Knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization, its business activities, and employees; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
Legal Analysis: Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information
Legal Function: Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance

The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL
This is a fully onsite role Monday to Friday in office.
