Nurse Practitioner

Three Rivers Midlands is a comprehensive behavioral health facility treating children and adolescents through residential and rehabilitative behavioral health services (RBH). We provide care for males and females ages 11‑18 with a wide spectrum of psychiatric issues, addictive behaviors, and chemical dependency related illnesses.

Responsibilities

Provide physical and psychiatric assessments, therapeutic interventions and case‑management services as part of direct patient care.

Coordinate indirect care as a consultant and educator, including prescriptive authority in collaboration with a psychiatrist.

Offer individual, group and family therapy as needed and provide education to patients, families and significant others.

Manage case plans, including ordering labs and tests, documenting and reviewing patient medical records, and determining appropriate referrals.

Prescribe pharmacologic agents, non‑pharmacologic therapies and obtain informed consent for psychotropic medications.

Participate in treatment planning, implementation and monitoring; engage in quality‑improvement activities such as systematic review of records and plans.

Order consultations and dictating admission orders and discharge summaries.

Assist patient family members in planning for home care and providing instructional support.

Qualifications

Preferred: One (1) year of nursing experience.

Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis from an accredited institution.

Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of South Carolina.

BLS certification required.

Valid South Carolina driver’s license preferred.

Completion of hospital orientation requirements.

Compliance with all hospital policies and practice protocols.

Consultant role to staff, providing education about psychiatric medication, conditions and caregiver interventions.

Case management services and coordination of the treatment plan with multidisciplinary team members.

Ordering labs and tests; maintaining and reviewing medical records.

Formulate diagnoses, order diagnostic tests and prescribe pharmacologic agents.

Providing education, informed consent for medications, and prescribing non‑pharmacologic therapies.

Making referrals to other health professionals and community agencies.

Assess and modify care plans to achieve medical and health goals.

Assist family in planning for home care and providing instructions.

Participate in quality‑improvement activities and systematic review of records.

Maintain current credentials and continuing medical education.
