Metro Infusion Center is seeking an Infusion
Registered Nurse
to work
every other weekend
at clinics located in
Kansas City, MO ,
Overland Park, KS , and
Lee's Summit, MO .
Candidate must be willing to work at all listed clinics.
Ideal candidate will have excellent IV skills (PICC certified preferred, but not required). Competitive pay.
Under the supervision of Practice Physicians, the Infusion Staff Nurse will provide clinical nursing services and support, including patient education and patient management for an assigned group of physicians.
Schedule Every other weekend – 26 weekends a year, including 2 holidays and the holiday weekend.
Duties
Access peripheral lines and teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications. Document the same in the medical record.
Review and chart daily laboratory results, passing information on to physicians and/or patients as needed.
E-prescribe new prescriptions and refills at physician's order and communicate with pharmacies.
Receive and return patient and other telephone calls.
Review EMR charts for next day's appointments, order lab results, consult reports or notes as necessary, and document all required fields within EMR to be eligible for meaningful use.
Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office on weekends, and schedule patients to come to the office as needed.
Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the facility.
Arrange for daily coverage with co-worker.
Assist and consult with the physician in ordering procedures and diagnostic tests.
Order laboratory tests for patients per provider's order or standing order. Perform follow-up on abnormal labs and medication refills as instructed.
Maintain patient records, billing documentation and all other administrative records, documentation and correspondence in the practice's EHR as required.
Administer immunizations, TB screening, medications and blood draws consistent with current guidelines and established protocols.
Support professional practice by observing the following: Use knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Practice Physicians and Practice Administrator.
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current RN license.
At least two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice.
Infusion experience.
Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.
Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters for working with immunocompromised patients (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19).
Benefits
$60/hour.
