Employment Type Part time

Shift Rotating shift – 12‑hour shifts. Minimum requirement of 24 hours per month. Day shift: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm; Night shift: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am.

Role Overview As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence‑based practice, you will utilize critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome‑based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post‑operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. You will supervise and coordinate care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members and facilitate communication with physicians, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Essential Functions

Conducts assessment

Identifies patient problems and develops plan of care

Implements outcome/goal‑based plan of care

Evaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal‑based plan as needed

Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals

Demonstrates clinical competence

Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable

Provides care appropriate to the age‑related needs of the patients served on the unit

Adheres to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, and other policies to ensure adherence with honest, ethical, and professional behavior

Schedule

PRN, minimum requirement of 24 hours per month

RNs work 12‑hour shifts

Day shift: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm; Night shift: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing required

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Registered Nurse in Illinois or Iowa within 1 year

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities

Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire

Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $32.74 – $49.11 per hour (actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification, and comparison to similar roles).
