Overview Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Details Qualifications
Education : Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate’s Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure : Personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Experience : Clinical experience required or implied.
Certifications :
Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses (CPHON)
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS)
S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
Fetal Monitor Certification (C-EFM)
Other unit‑specific certifications as required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed.
