Overview Insurance Payment Integrity Specialist (Remote, 6 month initial contract)

Location: Remote • Type: 6 month initial contract • Compensation: Approx. $22.50 / hr (W-2 contractor) • Contractor Work Model: 100% remote

We’re seeking a detail-oriented specialist to support health insurance payment integrity (similar to medical appeals processes). You’ll review medical documentation, analyze records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate routing and data entry.

Key Responsibilities

Receive and send faxes

Review and analyze medical records and provider correspondence related to insurance payments

Look up information in internal systems

Process faxes and incoming documentation and update systems accurately

Determine appropriate routing based on documentation and system data

Maintain spreadsheets with detailed notes

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

3+ years of experience in healthcare, health insurance operations, claims processing, or payment integrity

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to navigate multiple systems and screens efficiently

Strong analytical, organizational, and data entry skills with attention to detail

Basic understanding of ICD-10, CPT procedure codes, and common insurance denial reasons

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with FACETS system (strongly preferred)

Familiarity with NASCO and SIR systems is helpful

Background in payment integrity or healthcare claims processing
