Position Summary FMCOH Wiregrass Ranch Hospital, located in Wesley Chapel, Florida, is a 102‑bed hospital under construction, scheduled to open in

Spring 2026 . The facility will provide advanced emergency, diagnostic, and inpatient care with a 300‑bed capacity at full build‑out. Orlando Health’s system includes flagship hospitals, ERs, specialty institutes, urgent care centers, and outpatient facilities across Florida, Central Alabama, and Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

Assesses physical and psychosocial status of patients through interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies; develops a diagnosis and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement the treatment plan.

Performs surgical wound care, including closing wounds, incision and drainage, debridement, and dressing, while remaining in the immediate area; scrubs with the collaborating surgeon in the operating room.

Conducts complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as credentialed.

Diagnoses medical and surgical problems and prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.

Implements management based on laboratory results, physical assessment, routine diagnostics, and therapeutic measures in accordance with evidence‑based medicine.

Identifies, analyzes, and resolves patient care issues to foster significant improvement in patient outcomes.

Dictates and documents in an accurate and timely manner.

Performs patient education and maintains provision of preventive health services.

Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and the department’s on‑call rotation.

Prescribes medication.

Participates in quality initiatives to ensure consistent attainment of key quality indicators.

Supports IRB‑approved clinical research/trials through ordering diagnostic tests, prescreening patients, recording laboratory and diagnostic results, administering therapeutic interventions per trial protocols, and documenting outcomes.

Education / Training

MN or MSN or DNP or PhD or DNS degree in nursing required.

Licensure / Certification

ARNP license in the state of Florida.

National advanced certification from an approved nursing specialty board.

Current BLS certification.

ACLS, NRP, PALS required for certain areas.

Experience

One (1) year nurse practitioner experience or two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility specialty area.
