The Opportunity We are partnering with organizations in Grand Rapids that are seeking Financial Analysts. Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed cost analysis, including variance analysis for production costs, material usage, and labor efficiency.

Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning specific to manufacturing operations.

Prepare comprehensive financial reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as COGS, production variances, and inventory turns.

Analyze capital expenditure requests, evaluating ROI and payback period for new equipment and facility upgrades.

Support inventory valuation and analysis, identifying trends and potential risks related to raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

Partner with operations teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve operational efficiency.

Perform product profitability analysis to support pricing strategies and product portfolio decisions.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis specific to manufacturing operations.

Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, COGS, and inventory valuation.

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) in a manufacturing environment.

Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Ability to analyze manufacturing operational data and provide actionable insights for cost reduction and efficiency.

Bonus Qualifications

Advanced cost accounting experience, particularly in standard costing and variance analysis within a manufacturing setting.

Proficiency with manufacturing‑specific modules within ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor).

Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for visualizing operational and financial data.

Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.

SQL proficiency for querying analyzing data from operational databases.
