Position Details
Role: Interventional Rad Tech (Contract)
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Project Duration: 13 Weeks / Contract
Salary: $53 - $60/HR (based on years of experience)
Shift Timing: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM EST; Weekends required
Job Summary An interventional radiology technologist will assist interventional radiologists with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures that use instruments to treat conditions in the body. They are responsible for operating and maintaining specialized imaging equipment, administering contrast dyes, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
Required Vaccines: Varicella, TDAP, MMR, HEP B
Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for interventional procedures by verifying identity, explaining processes, and ensuring informed consent.
Assist physicians during procedures by operating fluoroscopy or other imaging equipment to guide instruments through the body.
Maintain and prepare sterile fields and instruments; ensure proper infection control and patient safety protocols are followed.
Monitor patient vitals and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
Perform post-procedure documentation and image archiving in PACS.
Maintain equipment functionality through routine checks and communicate repair needs.
Manage contrast agents and monitor for adverse reactions.
Comply with radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff.
Collaborate with nurses, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure procedural success and patient safety.
Qualifications
Valid license as a radiologic technologist issued by NYSDOH. (manager willing to accept out-of-state license if candidate is willing to obtain NY license after offer)
BLS certification issued by AHA
Advanced-Level Certification (only one) from ARRT to include one of the following:
ARRT (CI) – Cardiac Interventional Radiology
ARRT (CV) – Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology
ARRT (VI) – Vascular Interventional Radiology
