We are seeking compassionate, flexible, and dedicated Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to join the Horsham Clinic. If you are eager to make a meaningful impact in patient care, we would love to hear from you!
The Horsham Clinic has helped children, teens, adults and older adults manage and overcome a number of mental health issues for more than 60 years. Our 55‑acre campus in Ambler, Pennsylvania, houses 206 licensed acute beds and is one of the largest providers of acute inpatient services in Southeast Pennsylvania. We also offer partial‑hospitalization services for children, teens and adults at our Chester County and Delaware County programs.

What You’ll Do (Position Description) The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Nurse Manager and Registered Charge Nurse. Primary responsibilities include ensuring a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and assistance with activities of daily living, as well as supporting patient groups or one‑on‑one interactions.
Conduct regular safety checks on patients and facilitate patient groups.
Assist nurses with the admission and discharge process and support patient groups.
Establish a safe environment through unit safety checks and patient rounds.
Monitor patients on special observation status; record and report behavioral changes.
Provide registered nurses with patient information to aid daily evaluation and planning of patient care.
Assist patients with ADLs, meals, and transportation as needed.
Perform patient vitals throughout the day and record data.
Conduct searches for contraband and organize patient belongings.
Ensure patient and environmental safety per unit safety and patient round processes.
Under the direction of a licensed professional, assist in provision of care as indicated in the interdisciplinary treatment/recovery plan.
Demonstrate leadership, respect, and effective communication with stakeholders including the CEO, CNO, and other departments.
Show flexibility for reassignment to various units and populations, including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients.
Comply with all confidentiality laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
Be aware of potential environmental hazards, infectious disease exposure, and crisis/emergency situations.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree preferred; High School Diploma or recognized GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in addiction or inpatient psychiatric health setting required.
Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, age‑specific development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred.
Proficiency in computer‑based skills.
Knowledge in patient safety preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong teamwork skills.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Strategic and empathetic decision‑making skills.
