Human Resource Generalist
KeHE Distributors is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support the HR Manager at our Lehigh Valley, PA distribution center. This role will own a variety of HR strategic initiatives, partner with leadership on employee engagement, and collaborate with management to improve HR practices, policies, and procedures.
Pay Range:
$53,000.00 – $77,600.00 per year.

Primary Responsibilities The Human Resource Generalist will collaborate with the HR Manager and DC leadership to lead employee engagement initiatives, manage the hiring process, administer benefits, handle workers compensation, and drive a culture of safety. The role also supports disciplinary investigations, performance evaluations, and the overall HRIS system.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with management on HR practices, policies, and procedures.
Administer the hiring process, including compliance and new hire paperwork.
Administer company benefits programs (401(k), medical/dental, disability, etc.).
Manage and administer workers compensation and FMLA/leave of absence.
Lead safety awareness programs and safety committee meetings.
Conduct and lead employee disciplinary investigations.
Manage performance evaluation and merit processes.
Drive company culture and risk management programs.
Facilitate training and new hire orientation.
Represent the company for unemployment claims and hearings.
Maintain data entry in the HRIS system and personnel records with HIPAA compliance.
Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
Maintain good attendance, safe work practices, and confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
3‑5 years of HR Generalist experience; PHR/SPHR preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in distribution, manufacturing, food, beverage, or retail industry.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight time constraints.
Strong judgment in resolving complex problems with consistent policy adherence.
Effective communication with front‑line employees, peers, DC leadership, regional leaders, and corporate HR support.
Leave administration/management experience required.
Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
Physical Demands Must be able to lift or move up to 20 pounds, sit frequently, travel minimally, and work in a typical office environment with low to moderate noise.
