Job Summary:
The Mobile Crisis Team Leader provides clinical oversight, coordination, and supervision for the Crisis Response Team. This position supports crisis assessment, safety planning, intervention, and rapid response for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The Team Leader ensures that service delivery meets the operational standards of the Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH), CARF requirements, and HBHS policies and procedures. Responsibilities include staff supervision, training, program monitoring, interagency coordination, and participation in the on-call rotation as needed. The Team Leader promotes the mission, values, and philosophy of Hinds Behavioral Health Services in all crisis operations and community interactions. Essential Functions Supports the delivery of crisis assessment, intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. Provides clinical supervision, guidance, and coaching to Crisis Response Team staff in accordance with DMH and HBHS standards. Participates in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule to provide consultation and support to crisis staff as needed. Coordinates with community partners—including hospitals, law enforcement, EMS, and social service agencies—to support effective crisis stabilization and care transitions. Reviews and monitors program reports, service trends, and required statistical data for administrative and regulatory reporting. Qualifications: Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field required, along with three years of experience in a mental health services delivery setting and at least one year of supervisory experience. Must possess a mental health license or certification, or be eligible for such. LMSW or LPC preferred. If without a current license, a Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCMHT) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date and CMHT must be obtained within 2 years for the date of hire. Employee must demonstrate the ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged, and geriatric), limitations, and planned procedures. Requires good communication skills. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
