Y61 Systems Engineer VI (SE6) Salary: Up to $215K, based on education and experience

Security Requirements: Active TS/SCI clearance w/ FS Poly; CCA

Location: Linthicum, MD

Education A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline and at least 20 years of systems engineering experience. A master's or PhD Degree may be substituted for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience is also acceptable.

Job Description Advise and assist Government Program Managers (GPMs) in system engineering activities by applying current DoD/NSA and industry best practices in systems engineering processes and principles. Assist customer collection/creation of system engineering plans that are essential to carrying out the strategic goals. All work is performed in accordance with Government, and customer policies, procedures, and plans.

Responsibilities include:

Creating/improving methodology, processes, and tools.

Supporting system design and technical performance requirements.

Informing government leads on status and progress of all projects.

Preparing and conducting briefings.

Reviewing documentation.

Supporting setup, update, and/or review of Quality Assurance plans, Integrated Master Plans, and Configuration Management plans.

Assisting in the creation, maintenance, and integration of all system engineering activities and acquisition schedules.

Providing expertise in system engineering requirements alignment goals and architectural alignment goals; participating in engineering review boards.

Recommending and guiding system engineering solutions that minimize unique external engineering system interfaces; and advising the GPM on requirements reviews, to include security and all compliance requirements.

Experience Required:

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Experience with Agile methodologies.

Experience in system security authorizations.

Individual Capabilities:

Broad experience in systems engineering disciplines, system integration, project management, architecture development, mission use case and thread analysis.

Demonstrated ability to work constructively and successfully with diverse stakeholders to resolve mission and technical issues.

Self-starter, with high attention to detail, and possessing excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel.
