Job Description
AECOM
is seeking an Architect IV for our growing
Roanoke Building + Places
team to work on interesting and challenging projects for a variety of clients. This position is hybrid.
The Architect IV will be responsible for the following:
Provide a design-driven technical leadership approach to the architecture team.
Build strong relationships and interactions with clients, consultants, project management, and stakeholders.
Develop and oversee architectural drawings (plans, elevations, sections, details, etc.) and specifications.
Direct document production in accordance with identified project specific checklists, AECOM standards, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) process.
Anticipate and develop solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
Work with Project Managers and Architecture Studio Leadership to define scope from initial project information and support preparation of associated fee proposals, schedules, work plans and additional service requests as required.
Ability to Mentor mid-level and junior-level architectural designers to develop quality documents.
Promote firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability
Ability to work collaboratively with teams across multiple AECOM offices.
Becoming actively involved in related organizations at the leadership level.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Licensed as a Registered Architect.
Due to the nature of work, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree.
8+ years of relevant experience.
Self-motivated with proven leadership skills.
Detail oriented, thorough, well-organized and have strong time-management skills.
Advanced knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration and code requirements.
Experience with various delivery methods including Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build.
Federal and Health Sciences project experience strongly desired.
Experience with large, complex projects.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be client facing, lead client discussions and charrettes.
Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in REVIT, Adobe and other software used for design development and documentation.
