This role is on-site at Asheboro, North Carolina.
Position Summary The Engineering Specialist provides technical assistance to the quality, engineering, or maintenance departments, performing a variety of non-routine assignments of substantial complexity in support of engineering and organization objectives.
Responsibilities
Hands‑on experience with electronic controls, PLCs/HMIs, relay logic, variable frequency drives, stepper & servo control systems, and robotics.
Guide, assist, and train hourly maintenance or quality personnel and production in solving mechanical/electrical or quality problems encountered in the production process as needed.
Assist engineers and technical personnel in resolving non‑routine, complex problems involving facilities, equipment, machinery, parts, and raw materials.
Provide leadership, coordination and expertise to maintenance and quality personnel in the completion of assigned projects within time and budget specifications.
Perform experiments and trials to obtain technical data to resolve equipment and quality problems.
Participate in LEAN activities for the Value Stream or Equipment Engineering in support of the waste reduction and continuous improvement effort.
Develop and conduct on‑the‑job training sessions and equipment audits with maintenance and/or quality personnel.
Assist engineering with the installation and start‑up of new equipment and processes as well as initiating improvements in existing equipment and processes.
Provide coordination and direction to all shifts regarding production operation problems.
Minimum Education Required High School/GED.
Additional Qualifications / Responsibilities
Minimum 3 years experience as an Engineering Specialist or applicable experience.
Instruct and evaluate skilled trades and quality technicians in troubleshooting and problem solving.
Solve a variety of complex technical problems.
Demonstrated continuous improvement mentality, cost reduction and project implementation.
Location & Compensation City: Asheboro State: North Carolina Salary range: USD $60,000 – $80,000 per year.
