Job Title: Senior Paralegal
Location: Clearwater, FL – In-Office, Monday–Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to provide advanced legal and administrative support to executive leadership and external counsel. This role is critical in supporting legal operations across multiple business units, including highly regulated healthcare companies and diversified entities. The Senior Paralegal will handle litigation, contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management under attorney supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation Support
Manage litigation matters from intake to resolution, including service of process and case file maintenance.
Coordinate discovery, document collection, review, and production.
Liaise with outside counsel, expert witnesses, and internal stakeholders.
Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court and regulatory requirements.
Prepare litigation status reports for leadership.
Contracting Support
Draft, review, and revise contracts (vendor agreements, provider agreements, NDAs, service agreements) under attorney supervision.
Support due diligence for new vendors, providers, and partnerships.
Track renewals, expirations, and compliance obligations.
Prepare contract status reports for leadership.
Corporate Governance & Regulatory Compliance
Assist with entity maintenance, annual reports, licensure renewals, and regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions.
Serve as a Notary Public (must obtain commission within 60 days if not active).
Monitor regulatory updates, proposed legislation, and compliance requirements.
Create and maintain organizational charts and process maps.
Conduct legal research to support guidance, opinion letters, and compliance initiatives.
Support cross‑functional audits, compliance, and risk management projects.
Scope of Authority & Ethical Compliance
Cannot provide legal advice or bind the company without approval.
Drafts and pre‑pares legal documents only under attorney supervision.
Must adhere to professional paralegal ethical standards and company policies, including confidentiality, data privacy, and document retention.
Qualifications Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA‑approved program required.
Advanced Paralegal Certification (ACP) or Certified Paralegal (CP) preferred.
Notary Public commission (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
Membership in professional associations (NALA, NFPA) encouraged.
Experience
5–7 years of blended litigation and transactional paralegal experience.
3–5 years in corporate governance, healthcare, insurance, or multi‑entity legal experience preferred.
Experience supporting executives and working across multiple jurisdictions preferred.
Skills
Strong knowledge of contract law, litigation procedures, and healthcare/insurance regulatory compliance.
Advanced legal research, writing, and document management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Self‑motivated, resourceful, and professional.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with legal research platforms (Westlaw, etc.).
Electronic filing with state, federal, and administrative bodies.
Familiarity with GenAI tools, contract lifecycle management, BI tools (Power BI/Tableau), Adobe Acrobat, project management, and workflow mapping tools preferred.
Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, cybersecurity protocols, and secure data handling.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
In‑office position, Monday–Friday, in Clearwater, FL.
Occasional travel may be required for litigation, audits, or corporate governance meetings.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain computer and document workflow.
Must maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA/HITECH and cybersecurity standards.
