Preventative Maintenance Technician (HVAC)

Overview
The position of HVAC Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance on commercial and/or residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position will ensure HVAC equipment operates efficiently, complies with manufacturer guidelines and avoids unexpected breakdowns through scheduled inspections and services. Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment including air handlers, RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and split systems. Inspect and replace filters, belts, and other consumables as required. Clean cooling towers. Lubricate motors, bearings, and other moving parts. Check system performance and functionality; report abnormalities or repair needs. Clean condenser and evaporator coils, drain lines, and pans. Monitor refrigerant levels and pressures, report anomalies. Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used. Perform all work in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations and safety and quality standards. Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members. Assist with basic troubleshooting; escalate complex issues as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed. Minimum Qualifications
Requires High School diploma or GED and HVAC certification (e.g., EPA 608 universal). Two years of experience in HVAC maintenance or related field preferred. Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, tools, and safety protocols. Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required. Degree Equivalency
Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience. Master’s Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
