Senior Project Engineer — Roadway Design
A well-established engineering firm is seeking a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Roadway Design to join one of its Tennessee offices located in Nashville, Murfreesboro, or Chattanooga. The successful candidate will have a robust background in designing roadway corridors, interchanges, widening projects, intersection and safety improvements, and multimodal transportation projects. Experience with state Department of Transportation (DOT) and municipal clients is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
Design roadway corridors, interchanges, widening projects, and intersection and safety improvements.
Manage multimodal transportation projects.
Collaborate with state DOT and municipal clients.
Develop task management plans and oversee their execution.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain within 6 months.
6–15 years of progressive experience in transportation/roadway design.
Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
Familiarity with DOT processes, plan development, specifications, and cost estimating.
Knowledge of relevant design standards and guidelines such as MUTCD and ADA.
Strong communication and analytical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with task management.
Valid driver’s license.
Work Environment The work environment includes modern office spaces in Nashville, Murfreesboro, or Chattanooga, Tennessee. The role involves using advanced technology and software such as MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer to complete projects efficiently. The position requires travel to project sites and interactions with state and municipal clients.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110,000 – $145,000/yr.
