Corps Program Assistant Location: Greensboro Corps - Greensboro, NC Position Type: Regular Full Time About this opportunity

Assists in developing and leading church and youth programs; participates in providing assistance to people in need; participates in Home League and League of Mercy Programs; coordinates arrangements for seasonal programs and recruits/supervises volunteers for the same; transports patrons to and from the Corps. Responsibilities

Assists in the promotion of Corps growth goals and plans as well as Army programs and services in the community. Assists in the planning, developing, and leading of specific youth ministries programs; leads or assists with regular meetings for Corps Cadets, Y.P.L., Adventure Corps, and Junior Legion; prepares and coordinates or assists with production of Christian program materials and newsletters; assists in Sunday School teacher development. Assists in coordinating Adult Ministries Programs and actively participates in leading the same. Participates in the League of Mercy Program by visiting Corps members and the general public who sick or elderly and in need of special attention. Makes arrangements for disbursement of donated goods; assists in seasonal projects such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, League of Mercy, etc.; coordinates details associated with annual Christmas Programs including the Angel Tree, Toy Shop, etc.; recruits and schedules volunteers and provides required materials. Coordinates arrangements for summer camp programs; schedules transportation and prepares parent notifications. Assists in the planning and conducting of Sunday and mid-week services; coordinates visitation of first time visitors to Sunday meetings and other activities; visits regular members and absentees; serves on call to visit persons in emerging/crisis situations at discretion of the Corps Officer. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Employee Benefits

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Knowledge of basic Bible principles Ability to serve as an example of Salvationism and Christian stewardship and to demonstrate interest in the spiritual well-being of all personnel. Ability to conduct all activities of the position with a view to accomplishing the Army's fundamental purpose of proclaiming Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, which purpose must find expression in both the message proclaimed and the ministry of service performed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED Two years experience participating in ministerial work preferred Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities A follower of the Christian faith, with Salvationists in good standing preferred CERTIFICATIONS: Valid State Driver’s License
