Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) has immediate job opportunities for Registered Nurses (RN). Previous psychiatric experience is not required. Positions are available for evening shifts which include working every other weekend. This position is at CNYPC's Auburn Satellite unit located on the grounds of Auburn Correction Facility in Cayuga County.
Nurses at CNYPC are vital members of a multi‑disciplinary treatment team focused on providing compassionate care through patient‑centered and recovery‑focused mental health services to individuals with serious mental illness including:
Coordinating and providing nursing care
Preparing, implementing, and modifying nursing care plans
Providing health teaching, counseling, and education to individuals and families
Implementing infection control protocols and procedures
Observing and recording individuals’ symptoms and care; reporting responses to medications or changes in health
CNYPC, a Joint Commission‑accredited Office of Mental Health facility, provides inpatient and outpatient treatment and rehabilitation to adults diagnosed with serious mental illness, residential and community support programs to children and adolescents diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances, and inpatient treatment to individuals currently involved with the Criminal Justice System.
