Job Summary
Under the supervision of Technical Supervisor and Shift Supervisor, performs laboratory tests to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease. Follows all Hospital and Laboratory policies, guidelines, procedures and protocols and meets performance standards.
Responsibilities Perform laboratory tests under supervision to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Qualifications
Associate degree in health-related field or equivalent education and training as defined by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel for a Technician (TN) licensure. Employees hired prior to 1/1/09 or new hires with licensures awarded prior to 1/1/09 are exempt from the degree requirement.
Qualification as an ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent medical technician.
Current technician license required under Chapter 483, Part IV, Florida Statute 61F-5, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
National Certification.
One (1) year generalist experience.
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications and office equipment.
