The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (6NNABC) at St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 48 bed Neurosurgery/Neurological/Epilepsy Monitoring medical/surgical/telemetry unit. The Neurosurgical Unit is part of the world renowned Barrow Neurological Institute. The staff care for complex neurological and neurosurgical patients, including traumas, spinal injuries, brain tumors, spine surgeries, stroke, migraine, and epilepsy. Our team is trained as clinical experts with extensive training and opportunities in unit and housewide quality and performance improvement. The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is an excellent place to learn and grow personally and professionally.
Job Responsibilities
Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
Serves as an advocate for patients’ needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients’ condition (i.e., lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
AZ RN license.
American Heart Association BLS certification.
ACLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
BSN.
Professional certification in area of specialty.
One year recent acute care experience.
