Cultivation Manager (Project Management)

– NYCANNA LLC, DBA THE BOTANIST Canopy USA, LLC is a leading vertically integrated cannabis operator. With the transition of Acreage Holdings to Canopy USA, LLC in December 2024, Canopy USA is consolidating operations across its business units and markets. Role summary: The Cultivation Manager oversees all aspects of the cultivation department, including Irrigation, Propagation (Clone/Seed), Vegetative Growth, Flowering, and Harvest/Trim operations, ensuring departmental performance, crop health, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role provides strategic oversight and guides Cultivation Supervisors in daily operations aligned with national cultivation standards and production goals. Department Oversight: Provide direct leadership to the full cultivation department and manage Cultivation Supervisors. Manage all phases of the plant lifecycle from seed/clone through harvest and trim. Ensure practices align with company goals, standards, and compliance protocols. Work cross-functionally with Compliance, Facilities, Production, and other departments to drive continuous improvement. Establish and execute cultivation schedules in coordination with the National Cultivation Manager. Coordinate crop steering, IPM, feeding strategies, pruning/defoliation per National Cultivation SOPs. Leadership & People Management: Lead hiring, training, development, and performance management of Cultivation Supervisors, Tech IIs, and Tech Is. Drive accountability and a strong team culture aligned with national cultivation values and objectives. Facilitate regular meetings with supervisors and communicate expectations. Provide mentorship and partner with HR and National Cultivation leadership on succession planning, disciplinary matters, and workforce forecasting. Cultivation Operations: Monitor crop health data, environmental metrics, feed schedules, and pest/disease trends. Develop and enforce SOPs across all cultivation phases. Validate timely, effective, and well-documented corrective actions. Ensure IPM plans, pruning, and canopy management are executed at each growth stage. Drive data collection and accuracy in plant care logs, equipment logs, fertigation records, and cloning reports. Prepare the department for audits and regulatory inspections. Coordinate harvest schedules, staffing, and workflows with Trim and Post-Harvest teams. General Processing Oversight: Schedule and oversee processing operations including harvest processing, drying/curing, processing room cleanliness and compliance, and staff scheduling. Manage bulk bio-mass destined for extraction. Technical & Administrative: Contribute to cultivation strategy (yield planning, genetics, improvements). Manage inventory of cultivation materials; coordinate purchasing. Collaborate with the National Cultivation Manager on KPIs, budget adherence, and capital planning. Ensure proper use of software systems and digital platforms across cultivation operations. Participate in site planning, facility upgrades, and expansion. Maintain and improve the Cultivation Operations Manual and SOPs with national leadership. Qualifications

Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, plant science, biology, or related field preferred. 4+ years of professional experience in commercial cannabis or horticulture production. 2+ years of leadership or management experience in a cultivation or production environment. Demonstrated knowledge of plant biology, IPM, crop steering, fertigation, and cannabis cultivation best practices. Competency in Excel, cultivation software platforms, and digital task management tools. Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills. Proven ability to lead multiple teams and drive performance across departments. Additional Qualifications Familiarity with local and state cannabis regulations preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance at all times. This role requires daily on-site attendance for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Work schedules may be adjusted as needed to support business operations. Subject to change as business needs. Work Environment & Physical Demands
