Medical Assistant role at HCA HealthONE Denver Center for Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery. This position is a key part of our patient care team, providing clinical and administrative support to ensure high‑quality, efficient care.

Responsibilities

Schedule, cancel, and verify patient appointments

Check‑in and check‑out patients, entering charges and payments

Answer phone calls and verify patient insurance and demographics

Collect co‑payments, coinsurance, and personal balances

Assist nursing staff and perform selected administrative duties

Collect patient specimens as needed

Takes patient histories and vital signs

Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments

Administers injections, applies casts, splints, and dressings, as applicable

Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization

Assists physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals

Performs additional duties as required

Read, understand, and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures

Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement

For Patient Center Medical Home practices: coordinate continuity of care with external healthcare organizations, participate in data collection and reporting, audits, and program evaluation

Qualifications

At least one year of Medical Assisting or direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting

Medical Assistant Certification required (acceptable: RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NCRMA; ABR‑OE credentials acceptable)

Recent graduates (within 12 months) must obtain certification within 60 days of employment

Individuals with one year of work experience without certification must obtain certification within one year of hire date
